There was a fascinating study done analyzing what separated “professional authors” from “aspiring authors.” And the study found that “Authors who earn more than $100k/yr (on average) have dozens and dozens of assets. “The 100kers have on average 30.3 books in their catalog! Emerging authors had around 7 on average.”

Said another way:

Play the long game. Don’t focus on hitting a home run.
